Funding safety for children in the community was the goal when we visited The Neighborhood Center Inc. in Utica to celebrate the Pasquale J. Creo Bikes for Tykes program. The program promotes safety and healthy lifestyles, distributing 50 bicycles and safety equipment to income-qualified, at-risk youths in the community. Funds from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield were used to provide safety helmets to each of the recipients as their faces lit up with the joy of owning a bike.

The latest efforts by six local nonprofit organizations to improve health equity has reached thousands of people in the Finger Lakes Region. As part of this work, individuals are getting connected to health care resources at barber shops and beauty salons. Families are receiving one-on-one mental health counseling or assistance covering medication and other costs. Troubled teens are receiving help to turn their lives around, free colon cancer screening kits are being distributed and high-risk, pregnant moms are receiving free housing close to a hospital. These efforts are supported through our Health Equity Innovation Awards. Thank you for your continued partnership in making a difference in our communities. We recently had the opportunity to present our career journeys and insights to the SUNY Broome Community College Business Club members. We also shared how we are dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals and our communities. We believe that empowering the younger generation is the key to building a brighter future, and witnessing the enthusiasm and eagerness of these students only reaffirmed our commitment to supporting and nurturing their potential. #SUNYBroomeBusinessClub
